Soul Searching Summer Solstice
Discernment is of great importance in the current astrology with Juno conjunct last Saturday’s New Moon in a T-square with Neptune and asteroid Ceres. In a time when things are moving fast and so much is possible, it is very beneficial to be discerning in what you choose to put into motion. The Summer Solstice is the perfect time to consider the future, and with proper attention, the choices you make now could help you attain some of your deepest wishes.
The Sun continues its conjunction with Juno showing us the ways that we have been loyal to people, jobs, culture, and to personal beliefs. The square from Neptune softens our unquestioned commitments with its dissolving effect and opens us to new ways of being. If we chose not to act with discernment now, it is very possible that we could be taken for a ride by those we have been most loyal to. On the other side is a square from Ceres which says that it’s not only important to be discerning about your food choices, but also about the proverbial seeds that you chose to plant now. Neither are trivial and the Summer Solstice is the perfect time to consider what we wish to harvest in the months to come.
I love the overall vision of the current astrology, so let's take a look at what else is shaping up for Solstice season.
We are one sextile short of a grand sextile and there are three kite formations along with one mystic rectangle in formation now - all sixth harmonic aspects which bring harmony and quick motion to the current events. Even without looking at the planets and asteroids involved, I see that this is a time of crystallization and that the choices we make now will provide the framework for the years to come. Saturn’s sextile to Jupiter and the North Node amplifies this effect greatly and with the loft of a kite, we would all do good to strive for our ideal direction in life because it might just sprout wings and take off now. The kite from Ceres to Neptune gives us an opportunity to seek the spiritual treasure in life, and the kite from Vesta towards Cupido grounds us in our home and hearth and nudges us towards that which we are passionate about. It’s a truly wondrous time.
While summer certainly is here to delight us in many ways, Pluto raises the stakes as he tightens his square with the Lunar Nodes in a bid to raise consciousness on the planet regarding power dynamics. On July 18th this square will be exact in the 29th degree with power house Pluto in Capricorn, the progressive North Node in Aries and the familiar South Node in Libra. The heaviness of this aspect cannot be overstated and I will be writing more about it soon. I talked a little bit about it in my Equinox post if you want to give it another read. In the meantime, know that the gravity of our choices as they relate to global consciousness are of the utmost importance now.
I also want to call your attention to what is happening in Leo over the next few weeks as Mars and Venus will be teasing each other, staying within 4-5 degrees of one another but not getting any closer. This will be an interesting time romantically as dynamics between the masculine and feminine are visited by all-knowing Pallas (Athena) and the highly discerning Black Lilith Moon. It’s a great time to learn about what you do and don’t want in your love life. These aspects also support the broader discussion about gender dynamics and transgenderism that is happening right now. In square with Uranus, surprising outcomes are likely both in love and also politically.
The Sun moved into Cancer this morning from its post in Gemini offering us some nurturing relief from the myriad thoughts that may have been pressing on us and giving us an opportunity to get in touch with our emotions. Enjoy the weeks to come as you begin to ground truth the facets of your life and crystalize a structure for your ideal direction.
