Embracing Change
Ready or not, the future is on its way. The North Node holds what is next for us and has been highly activated by visits from the Sun, Vesta, Mercury and soon Jupiter - all in earth sign Taurus. Meanwhile, the familiar comfort of the South Node has seen only the passing moon and perhaps a few fleeting recollections of the way things used to be. For those that are ready to embrace change, it can be a truly beautiful and rich time.
Powerful Pluto in 0° Aquarius continues its consciousness building square to the Lunar Nodes that will reach its peak in late July. As human consciousness evolves, and unprecedented access to the human psyche prevails, our concept of power is rapidly shifting. Last week, high tech Pallas in 0° Leo was in exact opposition with Pluto and square the Nodes as the world began to deeply ponder how artificial intelligence will impact life on earth. Pallas moves out of this square by mid May but is quickly replaced by Mars entering 0° Leo. The consciousness churned up in the last weeks and months will now be deepened by expressive action. Venus will then step into the same 0° Leo, injecting love, laziness, and the potential for charming manipulation into the Nodal grand cross late May through mid June.
Before Venus steps in, Jupiter in 0° Taurus will form an exact T-square with Pluto and Mars, supercharging May 19th - 20th and blowing up any power struggles or offensive actions that might occur. In this instance, happy-go-lucky Jupiter isn’t his normal benevolent self as he adds fuel to the fires that Mars and Pluto are stoking. While these are days to be cautious and mindful about, there’s no need to hide away. Acting with integrity, consciousness, and intention are the highest expression of these energies and can bring great rewards to those that handle the intensity of this transit with grace. The Sun will trine Pluto as it enters Gemini May 21st, granting us the courage to inhabit our personal power for positive change.
There is good news with so many planets in Taurus. Ruled by Venus, loaded Taurus in addition to Saturn in Pisces has the potential to produce a wave of inspired art, music, writing, film, and performance. After what seems like a long creative drought, a renaissance is finally underway. This provides a critical asset even to those who aren’t artistic in navigating the Plutonian shifts ahead. In the coming years, each of us will have the creative capacity to reweave our own web in the wake of any disturbances - the key is to keep moving.
There are other effects of Taurus hosting so many planets. Vast shifts in Earth's systems are also possible on account of Uranus transiting the earth sign from 2018-2025. It’s best to expect the unexpected. Although Earth systems usually change very slowly, there could be some surprises here. With Pluto influencing this as well, there’s no telling how deep these shifts will go. The North-South axis of the Lunar Nodes could also relate to Earth’s magnetic North and South pole shifting (the North Pole has been traveling at an accelerated rate towards Siberia for the last few years). This is only one of many possible expressions of this year’s astrology, but with the Aurora Borealis being visible as far south as Tucson, Arizona, it is worth mentioning. Here’s a PBS video about the changes in Earth’s magnetic field if you want to learn more.
One more heads up - Vesta and Mercury will pass by Uranus late May and early June. This means electronics, communications, financial investments, along with individual homes may have more unsettling surprises on the way, even after retrograde Mercury goes direct on May 15th.
Underlord Pluto won’t release its grip on the Nodes until December so prepare for his quintessential slow burn to continue through the year. Much will be illuminated and eliminated during this time, but what remains standing by the years’ end will have gained endurance. There is a transformation of global consciousness underway, and these are often influenced by the consciousness of just a few remarkable individuals. Take the time to focus on your own mindfulness as a contribution to the greater good and embrace levity, humility, and mirth to weather the road ahead.
